Welcome to Phil Talks Footy!

My name is Phil. The first time that I sat down to write about football/soccer was in 2013. I did not have a history of writing for publications, I did not see myself as a writer but I had a passion for the sport and I wanted an outlet. The response to that first article, which was about the history of football in East Germany prior to reunification, was so positive and energizing that it made me continue to chase that. I have written for a number of blogs and outlets across the internet and I went on to start three podcasts as well. Two Red Gringos, a Liverpool FC podcast, Seriously Loco, the only purely El Paso Locomotive podcast, and Hardcore Football, which covers the World’s Game more broadly, particularly the top 5 European Leagues.
